The Women & Science Program is an initiative of The Wistar Institute that highlights the fundamental role played by basic and clinical research in addressing the scientific challenges related to women’s health. The program features contributions made by women scientists to biomedical research and raises funds to promote their work.

DIVERSITY IN SCIENCE SEMINAR SERIES
The goal of the Diversity in Science Seminar Series is to highlight the extraordinary work, research and experiences of scientists who advance innovation, inclusion, and diversity in science.
Dr. Maria Elena Bottazzi is the Associate Dean in the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Bottazzi, along with her partner Dr. Peter Hotez, were nominated for the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize for their work to develop and distribute COVID-19 vaccines to people around the world.

Dr. Marie A. Bernard of the National Institutes of Health spoke at Wistar on diversity in biomedical research and shared initiatives aimed to support an inclusive scientific workforce.
